Our
Philosophy
The
GBCY TIDE Swim Team believes in promoting sportsmanship, teamwork,
leadership and determination while striving to enhance all swimmers
spirit, mind and body. The Tide Swim Team strongly believes that
each athlete deserves an equal opportunity at instruction. We also
realize that the single most important goal is that the sport is
fun and enjoyable and always encourages all participants to accomplish
their personal best.

Kerrigan -Director
Assistant
Coaching Staff
Dennis
Schlereth -Coach Dennis is excited to return for his fourth
year as a member of the Tide coaching staff. Beginning his swimming
career on Tide at the age of 6, he was named Bergen Catholics and
William Patterson University Varsity Swim Team Captain both his
Jr. and Sr. years. Coach Dennis has excelled out of the water as
well and in his 6 years of Coaching has helped swimmers reach JO's,
both YM CA and YWCA Nationals, Division 1 colleges and was considered
as a coach for the New Jersey Zones team. With over 20 years of
competitive swimming experience, Coach Dennis is ready for the challenges
of another new season and looks forward to continuing his work as
the Sr. Practice Group Coach.
Erin
Carrather - Erin
joins TIDE for her first season. She has been teaching swim lessons
for the past 9 years and also coached her town swim team. She has
also swam in every level of competition ending at Fairfield University.
She looks forward to bringing all the knowledge she has gained to
TIDE and to her swimmers. She works as an assistant buyer at Hillcrest
Garden, a wholesale floral distributor. She is extremely excited
to be joining the TIDE team and is looking forward to working with
everyone!
Jason
Schlereth -Jason
will be serving as an assistant coach during the 2009-2010 season.
Jason has been involved with competitive swimming for over 20 years
and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Tide. Currently,
Jason is the Director of Athletics and Head Swim Coach at Immaculate
Heart Academy.
Amy
Wuko- Amy
is excited to start coaching with TIDE! She has been a competitive
athlete her entire life, participating in club swimming as well
as ocean lifeguard races in the summer. Amy is a recent graduate
of Montclair State University, where she was captain of the swim
team and head instructor of their youth swim lessons program. A
highly motivated individual herself, she wishes to instill confidence
and a strong work ethic into her young swimmers. Additionally, Amy
is very eager to work alongside TIDE'S talented coaching staff.
Sayaka
Cullens -
Paula
Pangilinan- Paula is a returning for her second season with
TIDE. She has been workingforthe
YMCA of Greater Bergen in our SACC, Aquatics, Camp and Swim Team
departments for a number of years. Paula loves being involved with
the children and she looks forward to a new and exciting season.
Paula attends NJIT.
Christine
Baragona - Christine Baragona is excited to start coaching with
TIDE! She has participated in every level of competitive swimming,
from an athlete on TIDE, swimming for Hackensack High School, to
being a member of the water polo team at Iona College. She has been
teaching swim lessons for the past 8 years at local swim clubs and
privately for families all over North Jersey. She currently teaches
lessons at the YMCA of Greater Bergen County. During the school
year, she attends William Paterson University. She is in her last
semester and will be graduating with honors with a degree in Sociology.
Christine is looking forward to working with all of the talented
coaches and swimmers!
